A product animation is simply an animated film presenting your product or service. Most often such animations are realised in 3D, but not exclusively. These films focus entirely on the appearance of the product, its design and functions. They can also be a form of advertising or show how a product or service works.
They differ from typical films shot with a camera in that... anything is possible in them. As the product is rendered in minute detail in a 3D programme, our graphic artists and animators can use animation to take it apart and show, for example, its construction, material properties and functionality in a way that is comprehensible to the viewer. And all this in a form that is attractive and engaging for the end user.
Another advantage of product animations is the possibility of showing the appearance of the product even at the pre-production stage, when we do not yet have a physical version of the product or the product is only in prototype form, or there is simply no possibility of filming it. In these situations, animation is sometimes irreplaceable.
Product animations work perfectly well as a form of advertising. They draw attention to the product and draw the viewer's interest to aspects of the product that may not be visible at first glance, such as the properties of the materials used or the unique qualities that distinguish the product from the competition. This is why animations are very often used in marketing campaigns, on sales pages or social media channels.
Product animation can also be used as a persuasive element at the final sales stage, when customer objections need to be overcome. Its purpose is to demonstrate the benefits of the product. This can include showing how the product solves the customer's problems, makes everyday life easier, provides pleasure or meets a specific need. In a 2022 Wyzowl study, as many as 89% of respondents said that watching a video convinced them to buy a product or service. In the same study, as many as 96% of marketers admitted that the use of video raised customers' understanding of the product or service.
In addition - as we mentioned earlier - product animation allows for a very high degree freedom of message. This makes it possible to show a product in a way that would not be possible with films shot with a camera. Using 3D animation, it is possible to present a product from any angle, in various colour versions or even in different settings, impossible to achieve otherwise than through animation. All such treatments allow you to differentiate yourself from the competition and create strong brand awareness among your target audience.
Animations of machines and equipment - not only the appearance, but also the operation and capabilities of the product
Instructional animations showing, for example, the assembly or operation of a machine
Animations presenting production lines and technological processes
Product advertisements - showing the unique design of a product
The production of product animations varies greatly depending on the needs, which is why the prices of such projects also vary greatly and depend on several factors.
The first element influencing the price of an animation is the ... the story to be told. This term includes a great deal: both the length of the animation and the elements to be prepared. The form can be very simple or very complex depending on what and how we want to tell the story. That is why it is always good to consider what kind of message you want to convey in your animation. Is it just to show the product, or perhaps also its practical advantages and functionality? Or is it to be an exciting commercial for YT or television?
The second element that influences the price is the reference material we get from you. Ninety per cent of the product animations we create are prepared as 3D animations, where we reproduce the product down to the smallest detail. Therefore, we often use CAD files for this purpose, but it also often happens that we model the product from scratch on the basis of drawings or photos.
Another important element is the technical parameters of the animation itself, such as its length or resolution (3D animations rendered in 4K are more expensive than FullHD animations, which can significantly affect the final price).
This is why product animation prices can vary greatly. They usually range between PLN 10,000 and PLN 25,000 net per minute, but there are also productions that are significantly more expensive.
